To deploy, configure, and manage switches with AmpCon™-DC, you must configure the System Config in the AmpCon-DC UI.

System Config contains the following two types:

  • Global System Config

The first time you log in to AmpCon-DC, the global System Config is blank. You must add information to the global System Config.

...

  • Non-global System Config

If the default username and password of switches to be managed are different, you can add multiple non-global System Configs.

System Config contains the following information:

  • License Portal URL and its user name and password. The information is used to send requests to the License Portal.

  • Default user name and password of switches to be managed. The information is used to access the switches.

  • A security configuration file with PICOS security-related set CLIs. Before configuring and using a switch, the switch needs to be configured with an initial security configuration to eliminate any unauthorized access. Security Config file is loaded to switch at the beginning of switch deployment.

  • A parking security configuration file, which is used to push initial parking security configuration for those switches in the parking status. This is not included in the non-global System Config.

  • Maximum backup numbers of configurations. This is not included in the non-global System Config.

  • The IP range of switches that are allowed to be managed by AmpCon-DC. This is not included in the non-global System Config.

  • Whether to enable debug logs for server-side operations or not. This is not included in the non-global System Config.

  • Parking Security Config File: To eliminate any unauthorized access, switches in the parking lot need to be configured with an initial parking security configuration. That is, configurations in Initial parking security config file will be pushed to switches that already registered to AmpCon-DC but without generated configurations.

...

  • Allow Switch Source IP: The IP range of switches that are allowed to be managed by AmpCon-DC

...

Since when switches register to AmpCon as unkown switches, it will automatically load parking security configuration file which may refuse SSH login with the configured "Device default login user" + "Device default password" in site configuration. In this case, user should update global parking security with empty file content.
