Configuration templates are needed when you add switch configs. Before you add switch configurations, prepare the configuration templates that you want to push to switches.

Adding a Configuration Template

To add a configuration template, follow these steps:

  1. In the AmpCon-DC UI, click Service > Configuration Template.

  2. In the New Template tab, enter the following information:

  • Name: The name of the configuration template

  • Descr: The description of the configuration template

  • Model: The switch model that is applicable to the configuration template

  • Version: The version of the switch that is applicable to the configuration template

  • Action: Config or Delete

  1. Optional: Click Update CLI Tree to refresh the CLI tree.

  1. In the CLI Tree section, add one or multiple template configurations by clicking the plus icon. The selected template configurations appear on the right.

  1. Click Save.

Optional: Viewing or Editing a Configuration Template

To view or edit a configuration template, follow these steps:

  1. In the AmpCon-DC UI, click Service > Configuration Template.

  2. In the Template List tab, locate a switch, and then click View Template.

  3. In the pop-up window, select the format for viewing the template. You can see the template configurations.

  1. Click Edit to edit the template configurations as you need.

  2. Click Save.
