For a switch that is not deployed with AmpCon™-DC, you can also import the switch so that it can be managed by AmpCon-DC.

Prerequisites

  • The switch to be imported hasn’t been managed by the AmpCon-DC server.

  • The AmpCon-DC license includes the Hardware ID of the switch.

Importing a Switch with a Global User

  1. In the AmpCon-DC UI, click Service > Switch.

  2. Click Import Actions, and then select Import.

  3. In the IP field, enter the IP address of the switch.

  4. In the System Config drop-down list, select the appropriate System Config.

Note: The System Config needs to contain the username and password to log in to the switch.

  1. Click OK.

  2. In the AmpCon-DC UI, click Services > Switch. Check whether the switch status is shown as "Imported".

  3. Click OK.

Importing a Switch with a Group User

  1. In the AmpCon-DC UI, click Service > Switch.

  2. Click Import Actions, and then select Import.

  3. In the IP field, enter the IP address of the switch.

  4. In the System Config drop-down list, select the appropriate System Config.

Note: The System Config needs to contain the username and password to log in to the switch.

  1. In the Fabric drop-down list, select a fabric.

  2. In the Group drop-down list, select a switch group.
