The set protocols neighbour inspection validate source-mac command can be used to enable ND inspection source MAC validation.

The delete protocols neighbour inspection validate source-mac command deletes the configuration.

Command Syntax

set protocols neighbour inspection validate source-mac

delete protocols neighbour inspection validate source-mac

Parameters

None.

Usage Guidelines

This feature verifies if the source MAC address matches the link-layer address of the received ND message.

  • If the link-layer address and the MAC address are the same, the device forwards the message.

  • If the link-layer address and the MAC address are not the same, the device considers the message is illegal and discarded.

Example

  • Enable source MAC address check.
