The run graceful-restart prepare ospf command initiates a graceful restart for all OSPF instances configured with the “set protocols ospf [instance-id <instance-id>] [vrf<vrf-name>] graceful-restart enable true” command. The ospfd daemon should be restarted during the instance-specific grace period, otherwise the graceful restart will fail.
To perform a graceful shutdown, this operational command needs to be issued before restarting the ospfd daemon.
