Managing Fabrics

When you import a switch or add a switch configuration, you need to select which fabric the switch belongs to. Then, after switches are managed by AmpCon-Campus, you can also add switches to a fabric or remove switches from a fabric as needed.

Topologies are created based on each fabric automatically. You can view the topology associated with switches in a fabric to check the linking of switches in the fabric.

Adding a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Resource > Authority Management > Group Management.

2. On the “Fabric Management” page, click Create.

3. Enter the fabric name and the fabric description (optional).

4. Click OK.

Adding Switches to a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Resource > Authority Management > Group Management.

2. Click the fabric name.

3. Click Edit Fabric.

4. Select the switches to be added. You can filter switches by entering keywords in the search box.

5. Click Save.

Removing Switches from a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Resource > Authority Management > Group Management.

2. Click the fabric name.

3. Click Edit Fabric.

4. Unselect the switches to be removed. You can filter switches by entering keywords in the search box.

5. Click Save.

Searching for Switches in a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Resource > Authority Management > Group Management.

2. Click the fabric name.

3. Enter keywords in the search box.

Displaying the Topology Associated with a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Topo > Topology.

2. Click the corresponding fabric name. Then, you can see the topology graph of switches that belong to this fabric. For more information, see Topology.

Deleting a Fabric

1. In the AmpCon-Campus UI, click Resource > Authority Management > Group Management.

2. On the “Fabric Management” page, click Delete.

3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
