Configuring Global MLAG

If you need to perform the same operations on multiple MLAGs, configuring each MLAG one by one easily causes incorrect configurations and is labor-intensive.

Global MLAG configuration can easily solve this problem. You need to configure only one global MLAG configuration, and this configuration will take effect to all the MLAGs of the system, reducing the configuration workload.

Global MLAG configuration supported configurations include system priority, peer-link information, hello interval, reload delay timer, and system ID.

When the global MLAG configuration and the single MLAG-based configuration are configured at the same time, it is important to note that the precedence of the former is less than the latter. The default configuration is used when both are not configured.

NOTE:

The global MLAG configuration of system priority, hello interval, reload-delay timer, and system-id has a default value. However, the peer-link information has no default value; you need to manually configure the peer-link information for establishing an MLAG session.

Procedure

Step1 (Optional) Configure MLAG system priority.

set interface mlag priority <priority-value>

Step2 Configure the peer IP address and the peer-link for the MLAG peer.

set interface mlag peer <ipv4_address> peer-link <text>

Step3 (Optional) Configure hello interval timer.

set interface mlag hello-interval <interval-value>

Step4 (Optional) Configure reload delay timer.

set interface mlag reload-delay <delay-value>

Step5 (Optional) Configure system ID for LACP.

set interface mlag system-id <macaddr>
