*PoE

The only difference between N3048EP-ON and N3048ET-ON is that,N3048EP-ON supports PoE, while N3048ET-ON does not support PoE.

The 48x 1G RJ45 ports on the front panel of N3048EP-ON support PoE+, the first 12 RJ45 ports of which support UPoE. For these UPoE ports, the maximum output power can be set to up to 72 watts. For details about PoE and UPoE, please refer to PoE Configuration Guide.

*Combo port

Ge-1/1/47 and Ge-1/1/48 ports are combo ports that support 1G port speed. A combo port consists of a GE electrical interface and a GE optical interface on the device panel. The multiplexed electrical and optical interfaces share one internal forwarding interface and cannot work at the same time. When one interface works, the other interface is disabled.

NOTE:

The electrical port has a higher priority, that is, as long as the electrical port is plugged in, the electrical port takes effect but the optical port is invalid.

*Stacking port

The stacking ports on the rear panel are used as normal SFP+ service ports which support 10G port speed. The port numbers of the stacking ports are Te-1/1/3 and Te-1/1/4.

*SFP+ MODULE port

N3048EP-ON has one slot for 10G module at the rear side. The module slot can be plugged in 2x10G SFP+, or 2x10G 10G Base-T modules.

NOTE:

  • The port numbers of the SFP+ MODULE are Te-1/1/5 and Te-1/1/6.
  •  It requires restarting the system when you plug-in or plug-out the module slot.
  • Delete the user configuration files /pica/config/pica_startup.boot and /pica/config/pica.conf when you plug out the module slot and before restarting PICOS.
