Controlling IS-IS Routing Information Exchange

Usually, when IS-IS and other routing protocols are deployed in a network, to ensure that traffic from within the IS-IS domain can reach outside the domain, there are typically two approaches:

• Configure edge IS-IS devices to advertise default routes into the IS-IS domain.

• Redistribute routes from other routing domains into IS-IS on edge devices.
