set protocols bgp neighbor as-override
The set protocols bgp neighbor as-override command overrides AS number of the originating router with the local AS number.
The delete protocols bgp neighbor as-override command restores the default setting.
Command Syntax
set protocols bgp [vrf <vrf-name>] {neighbor <ip>| peer-group <peer-group> |interface <interface>} {ipv4-unicast|ipv4-labeled-unicast|ipv6-unicast|ipv6-labeled-unicast} as-override
delete protocols bgp [vrf <vrf-name>] {neighbor <ip>| peer-group <peer-group> |interface <interface>} {ipv4-unicast|ipv4-labeled-unicast|ipv6-unicast|ipv6-labeled-unicast} as-override
Parameter
Parameter | Description |
vrf <vrf-name> | Optional. Specifies a VRF name. The value is a string. It’s a user-defined VRF set by the command set ip vrf <vrf-name> [description <string>]. |
{ipv4-unicast|ipv4-labeled-unicast|ipv6-unicast|ipv6-labeled-unicast} | Specifies the type of the address family. |
neighbor <ip> | Specifies the IPv4/IPv6 address of a peer. |
peer-group <peer-group> | Specifies a peer group. |
interface <interface> | Specifies an L3 interface for BGP connection. The value could be a VLAN interface name, loopback interface name, routed interface or sub-interface name. |
Usage Guidelines
Usually this configuration is used in PEs (Provider Edge) to replace the incoming customer AS number so the connected CE (Customer Edge) can use the same AS number as the other customer sites. This allows customers of the provider network to use the same AS number across their sites.
This command is only allowed for eBGP peers.
Example
• This example overrides AS number of the originating router with the local AS number.
