set protocols pimsm4 switch-to-spt-threshold interval


The set protocols pimsm4 switch-to-spt-threshold interval command is used to set the measurement interval for measuring the rate for of traffic from a multicast sender before the switchover from the RPT to the SPT.

By default, the system performs SPT switchover on receiving the first multicast data packet through the RPT.


Command Syntax

set protocols pimsm4 switch-to-spt-threshold interval <value>

interval <value>

Specifies the measurement interval for measuring the rate for of traffic from a multicast sender before the switchover from the RPT to the SPT.

The value is an integer that ranges from 3 to 2147483647, in seconds.


Usage Guidelines

Before running this command, you must set the threshold for SPT switchover by using the set protocols pimsm4 switch-to-spt-threshold bytes command; otherwise, the set protocols pimsm4 switch-to-spt-threshold interval command takes no effect.


Example

  • Configure the interval for measuring the rate for of traffic from a multicast sender before the switchover from the RPT to the SPT to 20s.
